WHAT IS SCRIP AND HOW DO I ORDER IT?

Scrip is just like a gift card you would purchase at any participating stores. By purchasing scrip cards a part the
proceeds comes back to BMVFSC.  The percentage that comes back to BMVFSC is posted to your fundraising
obligation.

BUT - don’t stop there!  Order all  year long!!   It’s so easy to do!!! Tell your family and friends too!   The document at
this link:
SCRIP INFORMATION has all the information you need.

Dates that Scrip orders are due are posted on the
Calendar.

                        Introducing The ShopWithScrip YouTube Channel!!!

Great News!  Great Lakes Scrip Center has just created a new ShopWithScrip YouTube channel.  THis was
developed as a way for families to easily receive information about scrip and to aid  coordinators in communicating the
benefits to them.

You can view these videos at
http://www.youtube.com/ShopWithScrip.  The videos cover topics such as how the scrip
concept works, the earning potential, and how easy it is to participate.

For Questions or Comments regarding Script, contact

                                          Why Fundraising is important

One area in which we're always seeking new ideas is Fundraising.   The BMVFSC Board is committed to providing
more clarity in identifying which fundraisers directly apply to your annual commitment, and which are general.  Without
fundraising, our ice fees will need to be markedly increased.  We pay $210 per hour of ice.  It takes a very full session
to completely pay for that hour, and frequently we don't have enough skaters on the ice to cover the fee.

Additionally, funds are needed towards every expense the club faces:
Storage, postage, insurance, Governing Council, USFS, just to name a few.
About 4 years ago we drastically lowered the fundraising fee from $100 to $25 and implemented mandatory
membership volunteer hours. We've been comparing this to other figure skating clubs, and other sports organizations
in general.  We seem to be on the low side, and now will need to find ways to increase our revenues.  Again, any
suggestions are welcome.
